Mexico City: Two robbers opened fire in a shopping centre in a city in Northern Mexico on Thursday. A police officer was killed and three civilians injured in the incident.
One witness, who didn't give his name, said he started running when he heard the gunfire. "I saw people lying on the ground, police officers. I felt scared and I took off running," he said.
The two gunmen were trying to rob a tax collection centre located inside a shopping mall when they were confronted by a local police officer.
In the resulting gunfire, the officer was killed.
The mall was surrounded by dozens of local and federal police officers.
Shocked costumers where seen outside the shopping centre crying, as the injured men were transported by ambulance to hospital.
