
A Royal Bengal Tiger was found dead today in the Valmini Tiger Reserve.

A Royal Bengal Tiger was found dead today in the Valmini Tiger Reserve (VTR) in West Champaran district of Bihar.
During patrolling, forest guards spotted the carcass of a male Royal Bengal Tiger, aged about 14 years, from Banauli forest area of the Tiger Reserve, VTR Field Director RB Singh said.
Mr Singh said that the tiger died last evening presumably after consuming meat of a pig which was poisoned by poachers.
The carcasses of both tiger and pig were sent for post-mortem, the VTR official said.
