Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has left marathon talks over Iran's nuclear programme in Switzerland, the foreign ministry said today.
"He has flown out," the ministry's spokeswoman told AFP, as negotiators in the Swiss town of Lausanne were set to resume attempts to hammer out the outlines of a deal to curb Tehran's nuclear programme.
French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and China's Wang Yi have also already left the talks, though Fabius said he could return if needed.
Lavrov told Russian media overnight that global powers had reached "an agreement in principle on all key aspects of the final settlement" as talks dragged on past a March 31 midnight deadline.
Washington denied that everything has been resolved but said enough progress had been made to justify pushing past the deadline.
