BJP Functionary Allegedly Hacked to Death in Tamil Nadu

Thiruthuraipoondi, Tamil Nadu:

A local BJP functionary in Tamil Nadu has been allegedly hacked to death by a four-member unidentified gang at a petrol bunk, police said.

A two member gang hacked the BJP functionary P Venkatesan (26) indiscriminately last night. In a bid to escape, he scaled the compound wall. But two others who were waiting on the other side hacked him, killing him on the spot.

According to a police complaint lodged by Venkatesan's  father, there was enmity between Venkatesan and his friend Viji alias Vijayendran over some defamatory remarks made by Venkatesan.

He stated in his complaint that he suspected  Vijayendran's role in the murder.

People of Nachikulam blocked the road till early Wednesday demanding arrest of culprits. Police intervened and persuaded them to disperse and assured to arrest the culprits.
