New Delhi: A research led by scientists of the Yale University says that a planet, orbiting a star about 40 light years from Earth, is twice the size of our planet and is covered in diamond and graphite.
Canceri e, the planet, is reportedly eight times heavier and has twice the radius of Earth.
The planet, along with four others, orbits a sun-like star, 55 Cancri - located 40 light years away from here. The star is, however, visible to the naked eye in the constellation of Cancer from Earth.
Scientists say the planet has a temperature of about 3,900 degrees Fahrenheit, making it unsuitable to sustain life.
