Orlando: SeaWorld Orlando has been fined 75 thousand dollars by the federal government following an investigation into the death of a whale trainer there last February.

Dawn Brancheau died when she was grabbed by her hair and dragged underwater by the killer whale, "Tilikum." (Read: Whale kills trainer as horrified spectators watch)

It was the third time that Tilikum was linked to the death of a trainer. The first time was in 1991, and the second time was in 1999. (Read: Why did whale drown his trainer at theme park?)

In its report, the federal job safety agency -- OSHA -- said that Tilikum had "known aggressive tendencies" -- and that SeaWorld Orlando showed indifference or intentional disregard for employee safety.

The bulk of the fine is for that violation, and OSHA is proposing that whale trainers at the attraction not have any physical contact with Tilikum unless protected by a physical barrier.

In another development -- a former director of health and safety at SeaWorld has gone public with allegations that SeaWorld tried to obstruct the investigation by blocking OSHA investigators from coming to the property and refusing to provide documents.

SeaWorld, however, denies the charges.
