At least seven people were shot dead and three others injured when unidentified gunmen attacked a packed passenger bus in Pakistan's southern Sindh province today.
The gunmen fired indiscriminately at the passengers while the vehicle was travelling along the National Highway in Nawabshah area of Sindh, DIG Sanaullah Abbasi told the media.
Two gunmen, who were on the bus, asked the driver to stop at a spot where two others were waiting on motorcycles.
All the gunmen fled after the attack that left seven people dead and three injured, police said.
The bus with about 50 people on board was going from Karachi, the capital of Sindh, to Kohat in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.
The motive for the attack could not immediately be ascertained.
Abbasi described the gunmen as terrorists while some reports said the attack was an attempted robbery.
President Asif Ali Zardari condemned the brutal attack and directed authorities to bring the gunmen to justice.
He also asked authorities to submit a report on the incident.
