Sanna: Yemeni police shot dead seven Shiite rebel activists on Tuesday when they opened fire on hundreds of protesters attempting to storm government headquarters, a protest organiser said.
"Police fired live rounds at protesters, killing seven of them and wounding dozens," rebel activist Khaled al-Madani told AFP.
The activists have been camped out in the capital for weeks in a campaign to bring down the government and secure greater representation in state institutions.
