Sierra Leone Overtakes Liberia in Number of Ebola Cases: WHO

Geneva: Sierra Leone has overtaken Liberia as the country with the highest number of Ebola cases, the World Health Organization said Monday, as the death toll in west Africa climbed to 6,331.

As of December 6, the WHO said it had recorded 17,800 cases of Ebola in the three worst-hit countries of Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea. Sierra Leone had now reported 7,798 cases, it said in its latest update, followed by 7,719 cases in Liberia and 2,283 in Guinea.
