Sigmund Freud's 160th Birthday Is Celebrated by A Google Doodle
The doodle today pays tribute to one of the Frued's most celebrated theories- the iceberg theory.
Did you wonder what your dream meant? The idea that dreams "mean" anything or that we have an active subconscious mind, is a concept we owe to Sigmund Freud.

Google today celebrates the 160th birth anniversary of the founder of psychoanalysis and father of modern psychology with a doodle.

The doodle today pays tribute to one of the Frued's most celebrated theories- the iceberg theory. The doodle today shows Frued's face into a visual representation of the theory which shows massive icebergs floating on waters. Only part of Freud's head, his visage- can be seen floating above the surface of the water and the rest of it- the major part- is submerged within water.

The google doodle by Kevin Laughlin represents Freud's theory which divides the mind into the conscious, preconscious and the unconscious parts. Majority of our mind constitutes of the preconscious and the unconscious, which is indicated by the submerged part of the iceberg.

Freud's contributions cannot be limited to just the analysis of the unconscious mind. His works are vast and varied and he has shaped pschotherapy as it is parcticed now.
