Singer Cliff Richard says he is pleased with prosecutors' decision to drop an investigation into historical sexual abuse.
He said in a statement today he is "obviously thrilled that the vile accusations and the resulting investigation have finally been brought to a close."
The Crown Prosecution Service says there is insufficient evidence to prosecute and South Yorkshire Police have apologized for the handling of the case.
The 75-year-old singer said he had cooperated fully with the nearly two-year investigation.
He was questioned by detectives in 2014 but wasn't arrested or charged.
