Tampa, Florida: Fire rescue officials in Florida have said that a single engine plane carrying three people has landed in the median of Interstate 75 near Tampa.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue units responded just after 9:30 am on Thursday to the scene east of Tampa, which will host this year's Republican National Convention next week.
Officials said the aircraft did not crash, but was damaged when it made a hard landing. They said an estimated 60 gallons of fuel may have spilled onto the ground. A hazardous materials team is at the scene.
Authorities said the pilot and two passengers were not injured.
