Snow has fallen across parts of the Middle East as part of a strong winter storm moving through the region.
Snow accumulated in the Golan Heights and northern Israel this morning, as well as the mountains of Lebanon. Schools across Jerusalem are closed ahead of a forecast warning of 10 inches (25 centimeters) of snowfall.
Many worried about the storm in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley, where hundreds of thousands of refugees from Syria's civil war live, many in tents.
Heavy fogs also blanketed parts of Pakistan this morning. Pakistan's Civil Aviation Authority said officials temporarily closed Islamabad's Benazir Bhutto International Airport due to the weather, diverting incoming flights to Lahore.
Strong waves from the Mediterranean Sea also lashed Lebanon, Syria and Israel on Tuesday night as the storm approached.
