Snow hits flights, trains in Europe
London: Heavy snow continues to cause chaos across Europe - flight delays are being reported in the UK and other countries.

In Austria, the penguins and wolves at the Vienna zoo were spotted enjoying the cold wave.

But the African elephants which are used to a warmer climate cannot stay out all day or they will fall ill, according to their keeper.

Four-month-old Tuluba, slipped slightly while following his mother along a frozen, snowy path.

In northern England, cars struggled to move in the heavy snow, and some residents opted for more unusual modes of transport, including skis.

In Scotland, accumulating ice forced Edinburgh Airport to close on Monday evening before reopening on Tuesday, only to have to shut again, as another snowfall hit.

Over a dozen flights were cancelled. Many schools across the country were also closed for a second day.

In Poland, heavy snowfalls overnight caused traffic jams and flight delays. In some places the temperature fell as low as -11 degrees Celsius.

Forecasters say there is no reprieve in sight, with more snow showers expected across England, Wales and eastern Scotland on Wednesday.
