SRK's wax replica unveiled at Madame Tussauds in NY

New York: It appears like a mere coincidence, exactly a year after he was detained at a US airport, Shah Rukh Khan has a new home in New York city. The Bollywood mega star has joined the wax figures of the famed and famous at Madame Tussauds at Times Square New York.

"Once we launched Amitabh Bachhan we saw a huge increase of interest in Bollywood in general   and so we are really excited to be launching SRK today, in the honour of the launch of the DVD of My Name is Khan," said Rosemary Del Prado, Director of marketing, Madame Tussauds, NY.

The mighty Khan already has a wax replica at Tussauds' Los Angeles branch. However, the launch at the NY Tussauds' newly launched 'Bollywood Zone' was a true Bollywood style event with dancers dancing around his statue on the tunes of the blockbuster film Om Shanti Om.
"We see guests who come very specifically come to see our Bollywood zone so it is really exciting for this museum to see this growing interest," Rosemary added.

With this, SRK has added another first to his kitty. He was on the Newsweek's '50 Most Powerful People in the World' list in 2008 and was one of the first Bollywood stars to ring the NASDAQ bell. Perhaps, it was only to be expected that the famed Madame Tussauds wanted a bigger piece of the cake.
