London:
A young French woman was shocked to discover that doctors had left a pair of surgical pliers in her womb after she gave birth by Cesarean section at a hospital.
The pliers had been inside the woman's body for more than six weeks and caused her a lot of pain.
The unnamed mother from Normandy in northern France gave birth by Cesarean section last month, 'The Local' reported.
She returned to her home after the happy event, but was subsequently in a lot of a pain.
After six and half weeks carrying around the pliers inside her, she was eager to get rid of the implement as soon as possible.
"There on the screen, I saw a pair of scissors in my body," the woman told radio station RTL.
She underwent a successful operation to remove the pliers last week.
Although the surgeon who conducted the Cesarean retrieved the pliers, the patient is furious about the incident.
The doctor has since apologised and took responsibility for the incident.
However, the woman and her husband reportedly plan to file a formal complaint, the report said.
