Suspect in New York shooting case killed by police
New York: Police on Thursday shot and killed a man suspected of gunning down four people in separate incidents at a car wash and a barbershop in neighboring upstate New York towns a day earlier, Governor Andrew Cuomo said.

The suspected shooter, identified by police as Kurt Myers, 64, had holed up on Wednesday inside a downtown building in Herkimer, New York, after he opened fire with a shotgun at a barber shop in neighboring Mohawk, New York, and car wash in Herkimer.

Four people were killed and two others critically injured in the shootings at the barber shop and car wash.

"This morning law enforcement officials entered the building and, after being fired upon, shot and killed the suspect, Kurt Myers," Cuomo said in a statement. "There were no injuries to law enforcement officials, though an FBI police dog was fatally shot."
