Suspected bomber held at Karachi airport

Karachi: A suspected bomber who had hidden some explosive materials in his shoes was arrested at the Karachi airport on Sunday night.

The arrested was identified as Pakistani national Faiz Muhammad and was travelling by a Thai airways flight to Muscat when he was caught, officials in the Airport Security Force told PTI.

"He had sophisticated electronic circuits hidden in his shoes which could be used to create and detonate explosive material," an official said.

He said the man who originally belonged to Manshera in North West Frontier province was said to be a civil engineer by qualification and was presently being interrogated by ASF and intelligence officials.
