Chicago: Chicago businessman Tahawwur Hussain Rana - who has been found not guilty by a US court of involvement in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, but guilty of providing material support to the terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and of conspiring in a terror plot against a Danish newspaper - faces a maximum of 30 years in jail.
Sentencing could place in two or three months.
The jury reached a split verdict after two days of deliberation and pronounced Rana guilty of two counts out of three.
Rana faces a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison on the two counts combined and remains in federal custody without bond, a press release issued by the US Justice Department said.
After the verdict was pronounces, Rana's wife broke down in court and Rana himself appeared to be in shock.
His lawyers have said they will appeal against the verdict.
