Technical Problem Stops Turkey High Speed Train on First Trip

Istanbul: A Turkish train carrying Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the first ever high speed trip between Ankara and Istanbul on Friday suffered an unscheduled halt due to a technical problem, television reports said.

The train was left motionless due to a problem with overhead cables outside the city of Izmit as the train was preparing to bring Erdogan and a top delegation into Istanbul, the reports added. Engineers were scrambling to solve the problem.
