Berlin: Three dual Syrian-German citizens have been detained over their suspected logistic support of an Islamist rebel group fighting in Syria, Germany's federal prosecutor said on Tuesday.
Bavarian, Lower Saxony and Berlin security forces were involved in the operation to arrest Nael A.A., Ibrahim S. and Abdul H., all aged between 36 and 39 years, Efe News Agency reported.
According to the prosecutor, Nael A. A. is suspected of having supported the Ahrar al-Sham militant group on seven occasions, including the supply of funds and equipment.
Abdul H. is also accused of supporting the group and collaborating with Ibrahim S., who is suspected of supplying and delivering two vans and an ambulance to the group.
The three suspects are due to appear before a Federal Court of Justice judge on Wednesday, who will decide if they should face a prison sentence.
