Titanic necklace stolen from Danish amusement park

Copenhagen: Copenhagen's Tivoli amusement park says a necklace recovered from the Titanic has been stolen from a display.

Park spokesman Torben Planks says the jewelry disappeared Saturday morning and that the alarm didn't sound.

Exhibition owner Luis Ferreiro said Monday the gold-plated necklace has an insurance value of 14,000 ($19,300) because of its history but he doubted it could be sold because it is known internationally.

The exhibition which runs until December 30 includes fine china, ship fittings and other artifacts from the famed shipwreck.

The Titanic sank in the North Atlantic on April 15, 1912, while making its maiden voyage. More than 1,500 passengers and crew perished.
