London:
Fresh snowfall in the UK has meant major travel disruptions at most airports. Meanwhile, hundreds are still stranded as the Eurostar remains suspended because of bad weather.
Londoners Rajesh and Sarika had planned a 3 day pre Christmas break in Paris, booking tickets months in advance to get them cheap on Eurostar.
They, like more than 50,000 other passengers from all over Europe are stranded, trying to figure out what they should do next.
Eurostar has canceled all passenger trains after some failed in France because of the extremely cold conditions.
"We'd booked in September thinking we'll go to Paris. Just when we were packing yesterday we heard this on the news. We were to leave this morning. We're here to find out whether we can exchange our tickets for next week now but there is no information. The ticket office is also closed," said Sarika.
Richard Brown, Eurostar Chief Executive says, "the situation in northern France has been absolutely unprecedented in our experience in the 15 years of Eurostar. The failures we had on Friday night, there's a completely new failure mode which is why our engineers have been working hard on it and want to be sure that the solutions they've come up with will work so that we can assure people of a reliable service tomorrow."
While Eurostar may resume tomorrow, most airports expect delays including Gatwick and Luton.
