Beijing: Over 300 outbound flights were delayed in China after torrential rains caused by a tropical storm hit Shanghai city, the state-media said on Sunday.
More than 300 outgoing flights, both domestic and international, were delayed at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on Saturday due to heavy rain, according to Xinhua news agency.
However, no flights have yet been cancelled, it said. Meanwhile, over 1,000 graves were damaged in a mud flow that hit east China's Zhejiang Province following torrential rains, caused by the tropical storm Meranti.
However, no causalities have been reported after Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang, was hit by nine landslides, provincial flood control officials said.
Before entering Zhejiang, Typhoon Meranti wreaked havoc in southeast China's Fujian Province two days ago killing three people and affecting more than one million.
More than 186,500 people were evacuated and 1.05 million people were affected by the storm. Economic losses in the province are estimated at 800.3 million yuan (about USD 117.7 million).
