Baghdad: Islamic State (IS) terrorists have killed a cameraman who worked for a television station in Mosul, the capital of Nineveh province, a media report said today.

Qahttan Salaman was seized by IS terrorists on Friday from his house in the city, some 400 km north of capital Baghdad, a police source told Xinhua. He was shot dead later, the source said.

The TV channel, Sama al-Mosul, was owned by former provincial governor Atheel al-Nujaifi, who was dismissed by Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi after IS terrorists seized Mosul in June 2014, and stopped its activities after the fall of the city.

The Journalistic Freedom Observatory, an Iraqi media watchdog, said Mr Salaman was accused of collaborating with Iraqi security forces, in addition to filing reports against critical of IS propaganda, Xinhua said.
