Two Dead, 31 Injured in Algeria World Cup Celebrations
Algiers: Two Algerian football fans were killed and 31 injured in car accidents in celebrations after Algeria went through to the last 16 of the World Cup, authorities said on Friday.

Algeria's civil defence body was quoted by national radio as saying that there were car accidents, two of which were fatal, in five prefectures overnight Thursday to Friday.

After their national team made the second round of the World Cup with a 1-1 draw with Russia, Algerians took to the streets to celebrate.

Last week a young man was killed and several others injured during celebrations that followed Algeria's victory over South Korea.
