Lille:
A Frenchman in his 70s and his 40-year-old daughter were shot and killed on Monday when a driver opened fire on their car in northern France, official sources said.
The elderly man's wife was also seriously wounded in the attack, which took place late afternoon next to a busy square in the town of Grande-Synthe, near Dunkirk.
"The gunman has been identified but not yet apprehended," according to a source close to the investigation.
Dunkirk prosecutor Eric Fouard told AFP that both the car and firearm used in the attack had not been found on Monday evening.
