UK man arrested for allegedly hacking US government computers

Newark: A British man has been arrested and charged with hacking into computer systems of the US Army, NASA and other federal agencies.

A grand jury in Newark says in an indictment that 28-year-old Lauri Love, of Stradishall, England, and his partners stole information about military service members and other government employees. The government says the purpose was "to disrupt the operations and infrastructure" of the federal government.

Love was arrested Friday at his home about 70 miles (112 kilometers) north of London.

He's accused of working with two co-conspirators in Australia and one in Sweden, none of whom have been charged.

He was charged in New Jersey because he allegedly used a server in Parsippany. He also faces federal charges in Virginia for other alleged intrusions.
