Moscow:
Russian records show a Ukrainian Su-25 fighter jet was flying close to the Malaysian passenger jet before it crashed, a senior Russian military official said on Monday.
"An altitude gain was recorded for a Ukrainian armed forces plane. Its distance from the Malaysian Boeing was three to five kilometres (two to three miles)," Lieutenant-General Andrei Kartopolov told a briefing.
