London: Time is money! Queen Elizabeth II is looking for a 'clockwatcher' to wind up her 1,000 clocks and check they are always accurate, a job that offers over 31,000 pounds per annum.

Buckingham Palace is on the hunt for a Royal Horological Conservator, someone to wind up the Queen's clocks and check their accuracy. One of the biggest tasks every year will be to help change the clocks when they go forward in March and back again in October.

The job comes with a 31,200 pounds salary and 37.5 hours of duty per week.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for the conservation, restoration and maintenance of timepieces in the Royal Collection, which range from turret clocks to pocket watches at all royal residences around the country, the Daily Mirror reported.

He or she will be based at Buckingham Palace and look after clocks at nearby St James's Palace and Clarence House, but will also have to travel between Windsor Castle, the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Balmoral and Sandringham.

"Principally based at Buckingham Palace, the post-holder will be required to travel to all royal residences," the advertisement posted on the Queen's official website states.

The job requires a clock expert who is "experienced at working with hand and machine tools" and who has the ability to "strip and clean mechanisms, make new parts", it says.

And not surprisingly there are certain key requirements such as applicant must be a good timekeeper with "an ability to work to strict deadlines."
