Geneva, Switzerland: The UN Syria envoy met with members of the main opposition group at a Geneva hotel today, after they threatened to leave before planned peace talks begin in earnest, several opposition sources said.
The sources said the meeting between envoy Staffan de Mistura and delegates of the High Negotiations Committee took place at a hotel and not at the UN's European headquarters, where indirect talks on ending Syria's brutal nearly five-year conflict have been scheduled.
