Amazing fightback, amazing victory! India now face New Zealand who too won a close contest against West Indies. Black Caps got 18 off the last over, a boundary off the last delivery to reach the semis.
Amazing grit and determination shown there by Harmeet Singh and Sandeep Sharma to fend off the charging Pakistan players.
India have beaten Pakistan by a single wicket! Reach the semi-final of the Under-19 cricket World Cup. That was massively close. But Harmeet stood tall!
This time it's Sandeep who got the single! 2 to go!

Another run! 3 to go now! Sandeep on strike.
Three overs to go now! and 4 runs required. Will Harmeet do it? Sandeep defended well.
Another run, now 4 required. That was a close single, almost a run-out.
Not so long ago, India only needed to get 20 runs off 15 overs, yes, 15 whole overs, now they still need 5 off four overs. What is going on here?
India now require 7 runs and 5 overs to go! Harmeet got a couple off that over.
India now require 9 runs and chances looking bleak as of now.
Still 10 runs required and Harmeet Singh, Sandeep Sharma on the crease; the last pair for India.
Absolutely shocking! India lose their ninth wicket. Ravikant Singh was clean bowled by Azizullah.
Countdown begins! 10 to go now. Some shoddy batting, brilliant bowling, outstanding fielding and questionable umpiring have India close to a defeat as well as a victory!
Want to make a match interesting? Call on Indian players! 12 required now, as Harmeet picks up a single.

And another wicket! This one looked a dicey lbw decision. India now 8 down and 12 runs to go.
And India lose their seventh wicket! Smit Patel too departs, now it is up to the tail-enders. Unnecessary shot selection at the wrong time. Ehsan Adil rounds off a brilliant day personally for him with a wicket in his final over. His figures 10-2-25-2.

India still require 13 runs, yes, still!
Another 13 runs more and we are into the semi-final. Ehsan Adil has had a brilliant day for Pakistan but may be not enough.
India have lost their sixth wicket as Aparajith goes for a well constructed 51, another 17 runs to go. India 120/6.
Just 22 runs more now. Patel and Aparajith have handled the pressure well.
India is 109/5; now require another 28 runs and 17 overs still to go. Aparajith going great guns on 45 with Smit Patel on 8 ably supporting him.
Baba Aparajith takes charge now as India looks to seal the match. He is batting on 39 off 76. India is 96/5 in 30 overs. Smit Patel is on 1.

India now is 84/5 after 27 overs against Pakistan. The last man to be dismissed was Akshdeep Nath for 7 off Azizullah. Making the match interesting now are the Men in Blue.
An unnecessary run-out means that Vijay Zol, who was looking so good is out for 36. India 74/4 now and Pakistan back into the match.
Zol proving to be a tough cookie and playing solidly even as Aparajith provides great back-up. Zol batting on 34 off 60 while Baba Aparajith on 25 off 56. India 72/3 in 24 overs.
India looking rather assured now with Baba Aparajith (23) and Vijay Zol (21) batting. The score is 55/3 after 20.3 overs.
Vijay Zol looking solid now. He has scored 18 and Aparajith is batting on 14. India 42/3 after 16 overs.
India at 36/3 after 14.2 overs. Looking assured now. Both batting on 13. Hope that number is not unlucky for India though.
Another maiden over there. India at 27/3 after 13 overs bowled.
12 overs gone now and Vijay Zol, Baba Aparajith appear to have steadied the ship a tad bit. Runs still hard to come by but that's hardly a matter as India is chasing just 136. Aparajith batting on 8 and Zol on 9. India 27/3.
Zol looking to seize the initiative from Pakistan bowlers, could also be dangerous though. Still it is much better to hit out than die wondering.

India are 22/3 after 9 overs.
Finally Vijay Zol breaks the shackles and flicks one to fine leg for a boundary. That was sweet timing! Score is 21/3.
8 overs are gone now and India colts are on the rack here at 16/3.
Indian colts battling here as Pakistan bowlers look threatening. The ball is talking! India 13/3 at the end of 7 overs.
Zia-ul-Haq took that wicket caught by Saad Ali in the slips. Haq has got two now, one went to Adil. India 8/3 and look stunned!
India now have Baba Aparajith and the last match saviour Vijay Zol on the crease.
And India are 8/3! Hanuma Vihari goes without scoring. Another edge. Poor batting here by the Indians.
Ehsan Adil is having a great match for Pakistan here. First he caught a blinder at thirdman to dismiss the Indian colts skipper Unmukt Chand off Zia-ul-Haq and then he got the in-form Prashant Chopra off the very first ball of his second over.

India must be reminded of the 2006 final now. Tense moments here as the Men in Blue are 7/2 in 3.4 overs
India lose first wicket! Skipper Unmukt Chand gone without troubling the scorers. 7/1.

He slashed hard to a wide delivery by Zia-ul-Haq just like Sehwag.

In fact as we speak India lose another, are 7/2 now. Prashant Chopra too gone.
India is 6 for no loss at the end of two overs. Looking steady. Prashant Chopra scored a fifty in the last game against Papua New Guinea.
Unmukt Chand, the skipper, plays for Delhi and has already played 11 first-class matches and 12 List-A matches.

Total 136 all out in 45.1 overs
The Indian innings is about to begin now. The boys are chasing 137. It should be a stroll in the park but who knows. The 2006 final is still fresh in memories and Indian colts are known to choke against their Pakistani counterparts in crucial games. They hold a 9-7 edge overall but in World Cups, trail by 1-5. So, fingers crossed.
India have dismissed Pakistan under-19 side inside 50 overs in the quarter-final of the World Cup. Pakistan could just manage 136. The last batsman to be dismissed was the dangerous looking Ehsan Adil. India's best bowler of the day, Sandeep Sharma got him caught by Baba Aparajith at mid-off.

India chase 137 to book a place in the semi-final where they will clash with either of New Zealand or West Indies who too are currently playing. West Indies have scored 237 in their 50 overs. New Zealand will need to chase 238.
It was the new bowler introduced, Akshdeep Nath, who took the wicket of Azizullah. India colts are close to wrapping up the task now. 45 overs gone, Pakistan 136/9.

Interesting Facts
Most people will also remember the 2006 under-19 World Cup final played at the R Premadasa in Colombo. India bowled outstandingly with Ravindra Jadeja and Piyush Chawla taking 7 wickets between them. They bundled out Pakistan for 109 then but were in for a major shock themselves.
Anwar Ali, considered a prodigy back then, took apart the Indian top-order with considerable swing and movement. In the end it was a comfortable victory for the Pakistan colts as they won by 38 runs.
The rain already has briefly interrupted today's quarter-final match about half an hour back and it is threatening again. The covers are coming back on! India were actually on the charge. Pakistan are 99/8 in 34.4 overs as the pitch is being covered. Stay right here though!
Indian colts though, would be wary of Pakistan since the latter enjoy a 5-1 record in World Cup matches against India. This is totally opposite to the senior side who have not lost a World Cup game against the arch-rivals.
India-Pakistan contests at the under-19 World Cups have generally been low scoring contests. The highest score has been 191/5 at Durban back in 1998.

India started on a bright note when Sandeep Sharma, already being compared to Praveen Kumar, got Pakistan's opener Sami Aslam off the very first delivery of the match. Aslam was caught in the slips by Baba Aparajith.

Sharma followed it up with another scalp in the first over itself. This time Imam-ul-Haq was drawn into a false drive and caught in the slips by Aparajith once again.

Pakistan was 1/2 at the end of the first over.
