New Delhi: The US on Wednesday voiced "grave concern" over reports that Pakistani army is helping Taliban to infiltrate into Kashmir and said Washington was making efforts to address issues related to support for terror groups.
"I have seen the same reports which you speak about ... Those are grave concern and we continue to address those," US' Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen told reporters in New Delhi when asked to comment on reports that Taliban fighters are trying to cross over into Jammu and Kashmir with the help of Pakistan army.
"...With respect to support to those organisations I would go back to Mumbai (terror attack) and support for LeT (Lashkar-e-Taiba)," he said without elaborating.
He underlined that the US was seeking "a stable environment and a stable region and not one which is destabilised. So, my discussions throughout this trip focused on that."
Mullen was addressing the press along with US Special Envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke after their meetings with Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon and National Security Adviser M K Narayanan.
