Washington:
US has congratulated people of Nepal on the election of its new Prime Minister JhalanathKhanal and said it looks forward to working with him in the coming days.
"We congratulate the people of Nepal on the election of a new Prime Minister. We look forward to working with incoming Prime Minister Khanal and continuing the warm and constructive relationship between the United States and Nepal," State Department spokesman P J Crowley told reporters yesterday.
"We are hopeful that today's election - I think it was the 17th and final time - will give renewed momentum to the peace process and constitutional drafting," he said in an apparent reference to the long drawn out process to elect the new Prime Minister.
