The campus of a North Carolina community college is on lockdown following a report of a man with a gun.
School spokeswoman Laurie Clowers said Wake Technical Community College is coordinating with sheriff's deputies to determine the seriousness of the threat on Tuesday.
Students and staff at the school's sprawling main campus have been told to lock themselves in their offices and classrooms until they receive an all clear.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Phyllis Stephens says deputies are on the scene and investigating after the call came in shortly before 9 a.m.
Wake Tech has five campus locations and two academic centres, enrolling more than 63,000 students.
