Washington: The US has said it is "satisfied" with cooperation from Pakistan on investigation into the failed Times Square bombing over which several people have been detained in that country.

"We are satisfied with the cooperation that we are receiving from Pakistan in this investigation," State Department spokesperson, P J Crowley, told reporters yesterday.

Crowley said some people have been taken into custody in Pakistan, but deferred the questions in this regard to Pakistani authorities.

His comments came three weeks after Pakistani-American terror suspect Faisal Shahzad was arrested by the US federal authorities in New York on charges of plotting a car bombing at the Times Square on May 1.

Investigations have held the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) responsible for the attempted bombing.

"We just had a high-level visit to Pakistan by General (Retd James) Jones, the National Security Adviser; and Leon Panetta, the CIA Director," Crowley said.

The two top US officials were in Islamabad early this week.

In a joint statement issued after their meetings in Islamabad, the two countries pledged to work together to combat terrorism in Pakistan.
