Berlin: Scandal-hit Volkswagen has suspended officials from the research and development wing of its core brand VW, luxury division Audi and sports-car maker Porsche, news agency Reuters has reported citing sources.

Europe's biggest automaker has acknowledged installing software in diesel engines designed to hide their emissions of toxic gasses. Around 11 million cars of its group brands worldwide are affected by the diesel scandal, it has said.
