Bangkok:
Thai officials have seized a cargo plane carrying weapons coming from North Korea. Local Thai media says that some 40 tons of weaponry were found on board the plane.
Officials seized the plane after it had made an emergency request to refuel at the Bangkok airport.
Military investigators who were reportedly acting on a intelligence tip off from the US said the plane originated from Pyongyang and was possibly carrying weapons from the North Korean capital to a south Asian country.
The detained 5 crew members believed to be from eastern Europe originally said the cargo on board was oil drilling equipment. Officials instead found RPGs, missiles and other weapons
