Hours after US President-elect Donald Trump nominated Linda McMahon as his Secretary of Education, a wild clip from the early 2000s resurfaced on social media. The video from the time Ms McMahon served as the CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) shows the billionaire businesswoman slapping her daughter, Stephanie McMahon. The segment was a part of a storyline at the time.

In the video, Ms McMahon knocks her daughter down in a staged scene. Another video in the compilation shows Ms McMahon receiving a slap from Stephanie. The scripted moments are a part of WWE's tradition of dramatised confrontations, designed to entertain viewers with shocking twists and turns.

One particularly striking clip shows a WWE staff member holding Ms McMahon's arms behind her back as Stephanie delivers yet another slap in the green room of WWE. Ms McMahon is sent sprawling onto a sofa, dramatically reacting to the blow.

The viral video is just a part of Linda McMahon's legacy in the wrestling world. She co-founded WWE (then known as WWF) in 1980 alongside her husband, Vince McMahon, and helped grow the company into a global phenomenon, bringing characters like Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant into the spotlight.

Her appointment into the Trump 2.0 cabinet also brought back a memorable moment from 2007 during the WWE "Battle of the Billionaires", when Donald Trump shaved her husband Vince McMahon's head after a staged feud. 

This dramatic event, which capped off a fabricated rivalry between Trump and Vince McMahon, took place in Detroit and featured Trump's chosen wrestler, Bobby Lashley, defeating Mr McMahon's pick, Umaga. As a result, Vince McMahon had to have his head shaved in the ring by Trump.
