The White House on Tuesday welcomed the election victory of Canada's Liberal leader Justin Trudeau and said President Barack Obama would speak to the prime minister-elect soon.
Spokesman Josh Earnest said Washington looks forward to working with Trudeau's government on issues including climate change, where the White House said Ottawa could do more.
