London:
A Polish woman has told a British jury how she used her engagement ring to free herself after her boyfriend tried to bury her alive.
Michelina Lewandowska accuses her partner of attacking her with a Taser at their home, binding her with tape, and putting her in a cardboard box that he buried in the woods.
Her partner, 25-year-old Marcin Kasprzak, is on trial with another man charged with attempted murder.
Lewandowska, 27, testified Tuesday she used her ring to cut the tape from her legs, then tore apart the box, which she said was buried in about 10 centimeters (4 inches) of soil.
She said she managed to escape and flagged down a passing car that took her home.
The trial at Leeds Crown Court was adjourned until Wednesday.
