New York:
A 75-year-old woman stabbed her husband, 80, to death in a fit of rage in Monroe town in New Jersey, police said.
Ruth Zucker was charged with the murder of her dentist husband, Harvey Zucker, in the living room of their home in a retirement community in Monroe, the New York Post reported.
The body, which had multiple stab wounds, was found when their 46-year-old son, Scott, went to visit. Zucker herself was covered with blood and a knife was recovered, the Middlesex county prosecutor's office said.
Neighbours said Harvey had been ill for some time and his failing health was a constant source of stress for his wife.
Ruth, however, pleaded not guilty at her arraignment and was ordered to undergo psychiatric evaluation.
The couple had been married for 50 years and have three children.
