Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif today met German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier and discussed matters relating to regional security and bilateral ties.
According to an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, the German Foreign Minister acknowledged Pakistan's contribution in the war against terrorism and regional peace.
Steinmeier told Gen Sharif that Germany understands challenges faced by Islamabad and assured full support for Pakistan's efforts for stability and peace in the region, said the statement.
"We have sacrificed immensely, more than any other nation. The world needs to stand by us till dividends are fully realised," Gen Sharif told Steinmeier.
According to the statement, he further said that terrorism has morphed into a global phenomenon and warrants a global response.
"In order to effectively win, synergy by all is required," he said.
