World War 2 bomb found at Warsaw Airport

Warsaw: An airport official says a bomb dating back to World War II has been discovered at Warsaw's international airport during construction work.

Airport spokesman Przemyslaw Przybylski said the bomb was found on Tuesday 500 yards (metres) from the main terminal. It was discovered during work for a planned train station that will link the airport to the city.

Przybylski says explosives experts are on their way to the site to deal with the bomb.

He says air traffic was not affected and that there is no danger. However, road traffic at the airport was disrupted somewhat.

Such findings are relatively common in Poland, Germany and other countries that saw intense fighting during the war.
