Yemen Officials Say Drone Kills Five Militants
Sanna, Yemen: Yemeni security officials say a suspected U.S. drone has targeted a car carrying militants from al-Qaeda in the country's south, killing all five occupants.

The officials said the attack Saturday took place in a mountainous area in al-Saied in Shabwa province. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to speak to reporters.

The U.S. considers Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula to be the group's most dangerous branch in the world and has linked it to a number of botched or foiled attacks on the U.S. homeland.

The U.S., which trains Yemen's counterterrorism forces, has launched more than 100 drone strikes against suspected al-Qaeda targets in the impoverished country since 2002, according to the New America Foundation, a nonpartisan public policy institute.
