Zardari starts UK visit amid strained ties, Cameron stays firm
London: Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari starts his UK visit today amid strained relations between London and Islamabad.

Meanwhile, the British Prime Minister's spokesperson has made it clear that David Cameron stands by the remarks he made while his official visit to India last week asking Pakistan to stop exporting terror. (Read: Cameron won't apologise for Pak terror remark)

Cameron had said that Pakistan could not be permitted to "look both ways" in promoting the export of terror, while publicly working for stability in the region. Islamabad had lodged an official complaint protesting his comments.

The Pakistan government summoned British High Commissioner to Islamabad on Monday giving him a dressing down over remarks made by Cameron. The main opposition leaders of Pakistan had also urged Zardari to call off his visit to London.

Zardari is scheduled to meet Cameron at his country residence Chequers on Friday. (With PTI Inputs)
